According to information released by New Britain officials and reported by local news outlets, officers responded to the couple’s Roxbury Road residence at approximately 8:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a possible suicide.

When police arrived, they discovered Amanda inside a bedroom with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Husband Found at Silver Lake Boat Launch

As detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding Amanda’s death, they developed information indicating that her husband, John, was also involved in the incident.

Investigators subsequently located John’s vehicle at the Silver Lake boat launch in Berlin, Connecticut. Officers found him inside with a gunshot wound to the head.

Initial police statements indicated that the injury appeared to be self-inflicted, although his condition had not been publicly confirmed at that stage.

Medical Examiner Confirms Both Deaths

An update published on November 5 provided confirmation of the couple’s deaths and the medical examiner’s findings.

The Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Amanda died from a gunshot wound to the head and classified her death as a homicide. John died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
